Every country has its dos and don'ts. The same thing applies to Latvia. Here are a few things you should keep in mind before you visit the country:
Latvians are friendly. If you need assistance, Latvians will gladly assist you. Hospitality is ingrained in their culture, and they will welcome you with open arms.
You don't require a visa to visit Latvia. Since Latvia falls in the Schengen area and Canadian citizens do not require a visa to travel to Schengen countries, you can travel there visa-free.
Carry cash. The official currency of Latvia is Euros (EUR). It is advisable to carry cash for payments in smaller establishments. Credit cards and debit cards are also accepted.
Be sensitive to their culture and traditions. Latvians have deep respect for their culture and traditions, so do not disrespect their culture, especially in rural areas.
Pack your clothes depending on the season you have chosen to visit. Latvia has different tourist seasons like summer, winter, and spring. Based on the season pack your clothes. For winter, bring warm clothes because it will be freezing cold.
