What do Goway's travellers say?

Amazing trip to Southeast Asia
We had an amazing trip to Southeast Asia. We would like to thank Goway for organizing a memorable vacation. The tour guides were very personable, kind, respectful and knowledgeable about their countries. It was nice to be able to ask them questions and hear about their daily lives. They went above and beyond to make our trip as enjoyable as possible. We were so glad our tours were private as the guides were very flexible in accommodating us as I often could not fully participate after spending time in a hospital with food poisoning. We enjoyed our time in Singapore. The driver who drove us from and to the airport gave us a compressive overview of daily life in Singapore. It was fascinating to hear how home ownership, retirement and driving was so different there. The accommodations were excellent, the staff were all very kind and helpful. We have to particularly commend the staff at the Siesta Classic Ma May in Hanoi. Ann at reception was so kind to my husband when I was in the hospital asking him regularly how I was doing and arranging late checkout without being asked. And Suzie our Hanoi tour guide for rearranging a tour time for my husband then dropping him off at the hospital. She also managed to take me to see the Ho Chi Minh property on our way to the airport as I had missed so much of Hanoi. I would also like to thank Aurel Vion, the Goway representative from Paris, who personally called me while I was in the hospital to enquire how I was doing, cancel our Halong cruise and arrange an extra night in the hotel for my husband. It was much appreciated. Hoang was super flexible with our tours in Hue and Hoi An as I was still very weak having just gotten out of hospital. We really enjoyed our visit to the private pottery museum and meet the owner and our ride on the Perfume River in a private boat and our voyage through the mountain pass to Danang. Andy, the tour guide who picked us up from the Boutique Hoi A Resort helped us avoid the long lineups in the Danang airport, again very appreciated. Tuan our tour guide in Saigon was also very accommodating. We really enjoyed our days with him relaxing on our private sampan to Cai Be and our trip to Can Tho to visit the floating markets. He also took us to the War Remnants Museum on the way back to Saigon as we had missed our tour of the Cu Chi tunnels because our flight in Danang was delayed 4 hours. And poor Phil in Bangkok, he tried his best with the culinary tour. Unfortunately after the food poisoning we were being very cautious in what we ate. We did appreciate his tour of Chinatown and the great meal of Pad Thai. He also provided us with excellent directions so we could take the subway, skytrain and ferry by ourselves. We will never forget how we were able to experience and appreciate cultures much different than ours. We have only good things to say about Goway and certainly always recommend the company to all we know. We have already had an acquaintance of ours book a trip with the company. And lastly we must thank Katherine Samsonkinai for arranging another excellent vacation. We will certainly continue to recommend her and will be calling her again to organize our next big trip.

Best Travel Agent EVER
I want to personally thank my Travel Agent Alice Teramoto who organized two spectacular trips for me! One to Australia and most recently Vietnam and Cambodia. She nailed it! I can’t express my gratitude enough! Both trips were flawless and hassle free! Every experience exceeded my expectations! I spent my 60th Birthday in Vietnam on the Lunar New Year which was a complete thrill! I highly recommend Alice and will definitely book with her again soon! Thanks so much Alice ♥️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Our trip to Asia was fantastic!
Our trip to Asia was fantastic! From the beginning of registration, working with Ameet Duggal, to the actual trip, the service Goway provided was outstanding! Ameet was great to work with. He was kind, professional and answered all my questions whenever they arose. Our guides in all four locations (Hong Kong, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Siem Reap) were all exceptional. All were very well informed, spoke English very well, had a great sense of humor, were always on time, and paid attention to all the details so as to make our trip absolutely problem free and enjoyable. We were picked up at all locations at the airport, and returned there, in a punctual manner. The drivers were great, especially Bros in Siem Reap. All had lots of water for us because is was pretty hot everywhere we went. Food was wonderful and all the sites we visited were interesting and beautiful. I was especially impressed with how our guides knew how and when to navigate certain sites to avoid large crowds. They situated our visits so we would avoid the intense heat. All in all, I would definitely consider doing another independent tour with Goway. I would also recommend your services to anyone who wished to travel abroad, especially to Asia!

Vietnam & Cambodia beyond my expectations
I had an agent who organized my trip and I can’t say enough wonderful things about it! I went to Vietnam and was met by guides that were caring, knowledgeable and absolutely amazing! The flights and tours were seamlessly and way beyond my expectations! I encourage everyone to go to Vietnam during the Lunar New Year Festival. Cambodia was equally welcoming and amazing to visit. The guides treated me like a princess and filled my cultural cup! You cannot leave Cambodia without loving the people and culture! It touched my soul! 🇻🇳🇰🇭♥️👏🏻👏🏻

Oscar Chow is a top-notch employee
Oscar Chow is a top-notch employee. I have worked with about 5 GoWay specialists 1 of them was bad. 3 of them were good but Oscer is 10/10. He handles everything efficiently and quickly. NEVER is he frustrated with me or impatient on the phone or through email. He is very professional and very knowledgeable. If you have an Asain destination I would recommend him 1000%!!!! Idk how they determine if employees get raises but he gets my vote for sure!!

Tokyo Post Cruise Stay
Working with Goway was wonderful. I worked with Destination Specialist, Suzette, who was knowledgeable, efficient, kind and patient. Having never been to this city, I needed lots of help and guidance. Everything Suzette planned worked like clockwork. Our guide was outstanding. Our hotel was perfect for us. The entire experience was “over the top” great!

Vietnam/Cambodia Trip
We went on an 18-day trip to Vietnam & Cambodia. It was customized for two couples. Our travel consultant was Harpreet Litt. The hotels, tours, and guides were all first-rate. We enjoyed the trip, and also learned a great deal about the culture & history of these two countries. Thanks again to Harpreet & Goway!

Memorable Thailand!
From start to finish it was extraordinary! Maria put together the entire itinerary for three weeks visiting 4 cities in Thailand. From airport transfers, excursions, hotels to our guides, there was attention to detail like I have never seen. This was our bucket list trip and it truly was so memorable. We enjoyed every minute of each day. Thank you Goway Travel and especially Maria!

My Asia advisor
My Asia advisor, Steve, is probably the overall tour operator rep I've worked with in 20 years. I do both groups and FIT bookings with Goway, and have actually never had a single issue. They go out of their way on both the advisor and client side.

This is my third trip with Goway… Excellent option for using an expert suggestion
This is my third trip with Goway expertise. Mr Lawrence's assistance was excellent in organizing our trip to Thailand. It was a fantastic experience! My family and I returned home very satisfied with how everything was arranged. All schedules were met, and transfers were managed exceptionally well. We plan to return next year and will seek Goway's guidance and suggestions once again. Oscar Perez

Best Time to Visit

Mongolia is a land of vast steppes, rugged mountains, and time-honoured traditions, offering travellers extraordinary experiences in every season. Its landscapes and nomadic heritage are ever-changing, ensuring that no two visits feel the same, whether you arrive in the warmth of summer or the stark beauty of winter.

Summer (June to August) is peak season, with warm days and crisp nights ideal for hiking, horseback riding, and camping beneath endless skies. Nomadic families are on the move during these months, giving visitors an authentic glimpse into their way of life. July is especially vibrant with the Naadam Festival, where wrestling, archery, and horse racing take centre stage, celebrating Mongolia’s proud cultural spirit.

Autumn (September to October) transforms the land into a tapestry of gold and red, making it one of the best times for trekking and photography. The cool weather and lush meadows create perfect conditions for adventure seekers eager to explore Mongolia’s untouched wilderness.

Winter (November to February) offers a completely different perspective. Though the cold is intense, it also brings opportunities for dog sledding, skiing, and witnessing the resilience of nomadic families in snow-covered landscapes. This is a season for those who want to combine cultural immersion with thrilling winter sports.

Even spring (March to May), though less visited, reveals renewal across the land as herders welcome newborn livestock and the steppe awakens.

Whether you’re drawn to vibrant festivals, outdoor adventures, or cultural encounters, Mongolia is a destination that captivates in every season.

Did you know that Mongolia is the most sparsely populated country in the world? The number of horses is actually higher than the number of people. Mongolia is also home to several unique animals, like the snow leopard. You should also know that the Gobi Desert is the second-largest desert in Asia and the sixth-largest in the world.

I love Mongolia's vast, untouched landscapes, nomadic culture, and rich history. Mongolia's low population provides a sense of solitude and peace not found in most other countries.

The Naadam Festival that takes place across the country on select dates in July is a must-see experience. This festival is one of the primary reasons travelers go to Mongolia and makes for the Summer months being the peak season for travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

US citizens can visit visa-free for up to 90 days; Canadians for up to 30 days. Your passport should be valid 6+ months past entry. Mongolia requires foreign visitors to be registered with Immigration; in practice, your hotel or tour operator usually files this online within 48 hours of arrival. Rules and online registration live on the Mongolian Immigration and eVisa sites, so double-check before you fly.

Mongolian (Khalkha) is the official language, commonly written in Cyrillic; you’ll also see increasing use of the traditional vertical script on signs and documents. English is most common among younger people and in tourism in Ulaanbaatar, but it thins out quickly in the countryside, so a few Mongolian phrases go a long way.

Think big skies and bigger horizons. The Gobi Desert’s flaming cliffs, singing dunes and camel caravans feel other-worldly. Lake Khövsgöl is all glassy water and pine-scented air. Gorkhi-Terelj National Park makes an easy Ulaanbaatar escape, while the Orkhon Valley UNESCO area ties together Kharkhorin and the Erdene Zuu Monastery. You can also ride a slice of the Trans-Mongolian Railway or time your trip for Naadam in mid-July. Goway features trips to the Gobi and Ulaanbaatar that stitch these highlights together.

Overall, it’s a low-risk destination; the US rates it Level 1, normal precautions. In cities, watch for petty theft and take licensed taxis at night. Winter air pollution in Ulaanbaatar can be severe, so travellers with respiratory issues should monitor AQI and consider high-filtration masks. If you’re heading off-road, go with a guide or driver and a well-equipped 4x4; distances are long and help is sparse.

For the Gobi or Khövsgöl, most travellers fly MIAT or Hunnu Air from Ulaanbaatar, then continue by 4x4 with a driver-guide. Public buses link provincial centres but run infrequently and don’t reach remote sights. The Trans-Mongolian rail link between Ulaanbaatar and Beijing/Moscow operates limited weekly services and is more of a scenic add-on than a way to criss-cross the country. Goway itineraries typically bundle flights and private overland legs to maximise your time.

Step over, never on, a ger’s threshold, and move clockwise inside. Accept offered tea or snacks with your right hand and a slight nod. Don’t point your feet at the hearth or sacred objects, and avoid touching people on the head. When you pass an ovoo (stone cairn), circle clockwise and add a small stone. Your guide will cue you on greetings and snuff-bottle etiquette during nomadic family visits.

Weather swings hard. Summer days on the steppe are warm and windy, nights cool; spring and autumn can turn frosty; winters are brutally cold. Pack breathable layers, a windproof shell, warm hat and gloves even in summer for high-altitude nights, and sturdy broken-in boots. For the Gobi, bring sun protection and a scarf for dust. In winter or shoulder seasons in Ulaanbaatar, add a down jacket and consider a P2/N95 mask for smog. Check Goway’s “best time to visit” guidance when timing your trip.
