Masai Mara
Masai Mara, also known locally as The Mara, is a national game reserve in the Narok County of Kenya. It is contiguous with the Serengeti National Park and named after the Maasai people, the ancestral inhabitants of the area. The Mara is one of Africa's best wildlife reserves and a new Seven Wonder of the World.
In Masai Mara, a number of exciting activities await you. You can go on a game drive to explore the reserve and spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife. On a nature walk with a professional guide, you can experience the wilderness from a closer distance. Go on a hot-air balloon safari for an aerial view of the reserve. Visit a local Maasai village to learn about their culture and traditions. If you're visiting between the months of June and September, you will witness the spectacular Wildebeest Migration, the largest animal migration in the world in which over two million animals, including zebra, wildebeest, and gazelle, migrate across the Serengeti and Masai Mara.
