Growing up in a small town in Maine meant travel was never a huge part of my life. It wasn't until I taught English in Mexico that my eyes were opened to the world. Following this experience, I packed my bags and set off for Australia. I imagined returning home within the year. Unbeknownst to me, Australia would become my home for the next five years.
Because of this, I had time to unearth some of the country's best kept secrets. The warm sunny climate and hundreds of beaches to be discovered initially drew me in, but I quickly fell in love with the stunning, idiosyncratic scenery. I'll never forget the feeling I had the first time I walked Sydney's iconic harbour, or the first time I spotted a koala in the wild. I was able to travel all around the South Pacific over the course of five years. My desire to travel and see the word continues to grow as I recently just finished a four month trip across Europe. The South Pacific offers an abundance of versatile experiences and Goway provides me the opportunity to share my love of these countries with those who wish to experience the great life Down Under.

K'gari (Fraser Island) is the largest sand island in the world. Set amongst the southern coast of Queensland Australia, you can actually experience a scenic flight of the island which takes off and lands directly on the sand. Highly recommend!
One of my most memorable travel experiences was during a trip to the Royal National Park right outside Sydney. We had just finished swimming the Figure Eight Pools and began our walk back to the car. The sun was starting to set so we were in a rush to beat the dark. We came across a local Australian family fishing from the beach. They had a makeshift fish cleaning station using an ironing board, but better than that they started to reel something in as we approached. As we got closer - they reeled in A SHARK! The family showed us the small shark, we asked lots of questions and it really was an authentic "Aussie" experience.
