Yasawa Islands

Overview

Take a trip to Yasawa Islands on your Fiji vacation.

The Yasawa Group is a chain of 20 volcanic islands located 40 kilometres/25 miles north of Lautoka on Viti Levu. There are 8 main islands to be enjoyed on Fiji vacation, most of which are very mountainous but all are beautiful and unspoiled. This is probably why certain movies were filmed here such as the 1980s movie “Blue Lagoon” on Turtle Island and Tom Hank’s movie “Castaway”.

These pristine islands have a serene and isolated ambiance and stretch from north to south for 90 kilometres/55 miles and are known for their rugged hilly landscapes, amazing beaches and beautiful blue lagoons.

One can enjoy great hiking, cycling, snorkelling and diving or simply go island hopping on a Fiji vacation. Everywhere you will see plantations of bananas, mangoes, papayas and other types of tropical fruit.
