Born between the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains and the warm Indian Ocean, childhood memories include family road trips to the Western Cape, South West Africa (now Namibia), Mpumalanga (Blyde River Canyon, Kruger and Lowveld), Swaziland (now eSwatini), and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi. Years later, married with my own kids, I came to understand just how uniquely special family time is when spent under the African skies. Sitting around a fire, after an invigorating game drive and sumptuous bush dinner, listening to the African bush with sounds all around. And that is just South Africa! Add to this the vibrancy and vastness of the rest of Africa, and the Middle East... a true melting pot of cultures and traditions and the promise of unforgettable experiences that I know, I carry forever. One never really leaves Africa. A part of it stays with you, as much as a part stays behind.

Fun Facts
Penguins (yes, penguins!) live in Africa! There is a colony of African Penguins living at Boulders Beach - which even more strangely is on the warmer Indian Ocean on the eastern side of the gorgeous Cape Peninsula...rather than living on the colder Atlantic Ocean on the western side of this peninsula. Be sure not to miss them on a visit to Cape Town!
