Argentina’s capital city, Buenos Aires, is buzzing with glamorous and seductive energy. Buenos Aires is colourful, safe, and more intriguing than ever before. This large South American city is made up of distinctly flavoured neighborhoods that mix European style with South American flair. Known as the "Paris of the south", Buenos Aires boasts renowned architecture, world-class cuisine, vibrant entertainment, world-class shopping, rich historical sites, and more. Here are five great reasons to make Buenos Aires your next vacation destination.

Tantalizing Tango Some people have spent a lifetime perfecting the sensual Tango dance. These connoisseurs perform in restaurants, theatres, and streets around Buenos Aires - and it’s spectacular. Tango is an integral part of the culture of Argentina and here in Buenos Aires, it's the main event. For a long time, Tango was associated with gangsters and the rough, immigrant underclass of Buenos Aires. Today, Tango is danced all around the world and in Buenos Aires, it is a sacred tradition that’s alive and well. Catch a legendary dinner and Tango show and give the dance a try yourself! Suggested Itinerary: 8-Day Tango & Ice

La Boca The colourful La Boca neighborhood in Buenos Aires is a football mecca, and a must-see for curious visitors to the city. The fiercely working class neighborhood was once the first settlement for the Italian immigrants. Now, painters, sculptors, and photographers fill the colourful pedestrian streets with souvenirs depicting port life and tango dancers. Wander the barrio’s cobblestone streets and see restored "conventillos", shared homes made of wood and corrugated zinc, and painted in bright primary colours. Check out the amazing street murals that adorn neighborhood walls and buildings. If there’s time, visit La Ribera Theatre and check out one of many neighborhood Tango clubs and Italian taverns.

Channel Evita It’s no secret that Buenos Aires’ most famous resident was Eva Peron, the film actress, First Lady, and champion for the workers' rights. Hated by many but loved by many more, she became an international symbol of strength and resistance before her death in 1952. Visit the Evita Museum, in Palermo, to see a collection of luxurious garments and her books and films. Visit Plaza de Mayo, where you can admire the famous balcony from where she delivered her most famous speeches. Head over to the famous Recoleta Cemetery to visit Evita's mausoleum and pay tribute to her in her final resting place.

World-Class Shopping and Design Shop like a porteño and snag amazing deals on cutting edge designs. The city’s trendy neighborhoods are full of boutiques and name brand shops, and many talented designers are now selling their wares straight from their studios and showrooms. Browse one of the city's many galerías - these quirky shopping arcades are the precursors of malls. Not sure which neighborhood to start shopping in? Think Palermo for hipsters, Recoleta for the jet set, and San Telmo for bohemians.

Marvelous Cuisine, Wine, and Nightlife No trip to Argentina is complete without sinking your teeth into some of the world’s best beef (sorry, vegetarians!). Parrillas (steakhouses) sit on practically every corner of Buenos Aires and will offer up delectable cuts of beef, from bife de chorizo (sirloin) to vacio (flank steak) to ojo de bife (rib eye). Buenos Aires is currently a mecca for culinary creativity. The city has an amazing selection of high-end culinary hotspots serving steak and tapas, as well as Italian food, French food, and more.

Waiters here know their wine – as well as their beef. Argentinian Malbec pairs perfectly with steak, and you can’t go wrong with a glass - or three - of this luscious drink. You can also try Argentina’s outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons, Syrahs, and Torrontés - a crisp white wine. Buenos Aires' nightlife is truly legendary, and whether you’re young or young at heart, after dinner there’s something here for everyone to enjoy. Artsy cafés, romantic wine bars, pulsating clubs, or rock concerts are all on the menu. Which will you choose?
