Tahiti’s long standing reputation for being a romantic haven continues to hold true today. It is the perfect location for weddings and honeymoons with its picturesque sandy beaches and many hotels and resorts. Visitors can enjoy soaking up the sun and relaxing on the pristine sandy beaches. Some of the more unusual beaches are Tahiti’s characteristic black sand beaches, the most notable of which is Taharuu Beach. This beach offers good swimming and surfing conditions, and there is plenty of space on the sand to lounge and relax. Another staple of Tahiti beach vacations is the overwater bungalow. These rooms are perched just out from the shore and provide a beautiful view of the surrounding water. Definitely a must-stay on a Tahiti beach vacation.
Maldives
The island nation known as the Maldives is home to some of the best beaches in the world. The islands are surrounded by coral reefs which support an abundance of marine life. This underwater wonderland can be explored on a diving or snorkeling excursion. For the more active traveller, the Maldives is also a perfect destination for sailing and windsurfing. The many beaches here cater to those who are simply looking to relax with their pristine white sand and clear turquoise waters. You can enjoy all of this during the day and then in the evening head down to the beaches again to watch the beautiful sunsets over the crystal clear waters. The Maldives also offers overwater bungalows for those interested in a different type of accommodation.
Greece
Greece has many islands, all with their own unique beaches. Of the 227 inhabited islands, some of the best known beaches are on Corfu, Crete, and Mykonos. The beaches of Corfu are set up perfectly for vacationers of any type, including families. Most of the beaches are lined with hotels, resorts, bars, and restaurants, plus watersports and activities. Also to be enjoyed is the picturesque backdrop of many of the Corfu beaches, consisting of lush greenery and rugged cliffs. Crete is the largest island of Greece and has a coastline 1046 kilometres (650 miles) long, harbouring both secluded and more popular beaches. Attractive qualities found at all of the beaches here are the Caribbean-like waters, white sandy beaches, and natural scenery including palm tree forests and imposing cliffs. The beaches of Mykonos tend to cater to more active and outgoing travellers. There are plenty of watersport activities available during the day, as well as many nightlife activities. There are also a few nude and gay beaches if one so desires.
Fiji
Fiji is made up of over 300 islands, 106 of which are inhabited and contain some of the most idyllic beaches in the world. Of all of Fiji’s islands, the ones with the most popular and renowned beaches are Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, the Mamanuca Islands and the Yasawa Islands. Both Viti Levu and Vanua Levu are characterized by their unique backdrops which include rugged mountains, volcanoes, wild flowers and rolling green hills. The beaches of Viti Levu are very clean and are generally more popular. They also have many watersport activities available including jet skiing and surfing. Vanua Levu beaches are more secluded and untouched. Hot springs are also popular in this area. The Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands are further away from the mainland and airport and, as a result, are generally less crowded. With crystal clear waters and soft coral reefs, the beaches on these islands are perfect for swimming and scuba diving. Another attraction on Fiji beach vacations are the overwater bures which are overwater bungalows that extend from the coast out into the water alongside the vibrant coral reefs.

While Bondi Beach of course has its perks, such as its proximity to the city, nearby shops, electric atmosphere and waters suitable for swimming and surfing, Australia has so much more to offer on a beach vacation. One of the most beautiful beaches in Australia is Whitehaven beach. The sand is so fine that it is like walking on powder, and the waters are crystal clear blue; perfect for swimming and snorkelling. There are many coves and inlets with stunning views, simply adding to this beach’s beauty. Two more excellent beach destinations in Australia are the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. While both areas offer great scenery, the beaches on the Sunshine Coast are fairly uncrowded and contain soft white sands, while the Gold Coast has plenty of beaches that are great for surfing and watersports. Another must-do activity on an Australia beach vacation is a visit to the Great Barrier Reef where you can go diving and snorkelling and view some of the world's most beautiful corals and marine life.
