Island nations have never looked better. Many people want to shake off the rust of the past 20 months and rediscover the pleasures of travel. There’s no better place to ease back into the travel experience—like relaxing into a warm pool of water—than The Islands of Tahiti, which have redefined their travel experience over the recent months.

First and foremost, The Islands of Tahiti have implemented a successful health and safety strategy to ensure that travellers can visit the islands with peace of mind. Furthermore, they’ve renovated resorts across the islands, added a few new properties, and refined the relaxation experience. The result is that The Islands of Tahiti are ready to welcome new visitors and offer new experiences to old friends.

What can travellers expect in The Islands of Tahiti?

Refined Resort Experiences

Bora Bora

Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts is the newest member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux collection, a curated selection of some of the finest hotels and restaurants around the world. It has been fully renovated and so even travellers who have visited before are in for a surprise. The resort’s 108 rooms and villas offer beautiful accommodations, either on the beach, in a tropical garden, or directly over Bora Bora’s famous lagoon. Our Escape to Bora Bora is a great way to enjoy the refined experience and explore the famous lagoon with an aquatic safari to see reef sharks and stingrays, which caps off with a barbeque on a motu that used to be the personal islet of the queen. It also includes airfare with Air Tahiti Nui, making for an exceptional deal on a Tahitian getaway.

Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts is the sister property of Le Bora Bora. It’s a member of our all-new Idyllic Retreats collection, which features some of the best relaxing properties in sunny destinations around the world. Le Taha’a is located on a private islet just off the coast of Taha’a, one of the Society Islands in the country’s west. The hotel features 58 suites and villas that incorporate traditional designs and offer direct access to the beach or the lagoon. Our Idyllic Retreats collection offers five nights at the resort, as well as a Discovery Tour, which showcases Taha’a’s pearl farms and vanilla plantations, as well as breakfast served one morning in an outrigger canoe. The package also features airfare with Air Tahiti Nui.

There’s also a brand-new resort, Hilton Tahiti, opening on the island of Tahiti in the coming weeks. The resort offers easy access to the international airport, great views of Moorea, and a private cabana experience. It’s a great spot for travellers who want to spend a night on Tahiti before connecting onward to Bora Bora, Moorea, or Taha’a.

Idyllic Retreats in The Islands of Tahiti

We also offer other resorts in The Islands of Tahiti that belong to our Idyllic Retreats collection. An Idyllic Retreat is a distinctive and exclusive property in a beautiful part of the world. These are high-end properties that offer deluxe services and accommodations as well as intimate resort experiences. They typically emphasize rest and relaxation, while also offering ideal bases to explore their cultural and natural surroundings.

Goway offers two Idyllic Retreats on the island of Bora Bora. One is the Conrad Bora Bora Nui, a stunning property of 114 villas and suites, 86 of which are overwater villas with direct access to the famous lagoon. The property is located on the longest stretch of white-sand beach on the island. Goway’s package includes a scenic helicopter tour of Bora Bora during your stay. The other is the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa, a 5-star property with 80 overwater bungalows and split-level decks with outdoor freshwater showers. Our trip to the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa includes a lagoon safari as well as private access to various water sport activities, including wakeboarding and tubing.

You might say that Aren was destined to become a globetrotter after his family took him to Germany two times before he was four. If that wasn’t enough, a term spent in Sweden as a young teenager and a trek across Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand confirmed that destiny. An independent writer, director, and film critic, Aren has travelled across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America. His favourite travel experience was visiting the major cities of Japan’s largest island, Honshu, but his love for food, drink, and film will take him anywhere that boasts great art and culture.
