Overview
Take a trip to Springdale on your United States vacation.
As a gateway to Zion National Park, Springdale is a small-town paradise for outdoor lovers. Millions of travellers pass through Springdale each year in search of Zion’s dramatic scenery, but the town packs its own punch with independent art galleries, neat food and drink options, and plenty of ways to relax. Plunge into the cool waters of the Virgin River as you float peacefully, a good activity after a day of hiking. Grab a drink before or after exploring Springdale’s restaurant scene, featuring Southwestern eats, classic greasy spoons, and smokey steakhouses.
Zion is the biggest draw to Springdale, and for good reason. The park’s massive sandstone cliffs tower in a variety of warm tones. Red, pink, and orange hues take on a vibrant intensity, plunging downwards into maze-like slotted canyons and soaring in natural rock arches.
The Zion Canyon Scenic Drive accentuates Zion Canyon’s best features, leading to the refreshing waters of the Virgin River where you can marvel at the unbelievable colour of the Emerald Pools. Get your feet wet as you hike the River Narrows, looking up at thousands of years of eroded rock walls as you march through the ancient lands. For dramatic views from above, take to the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway, which gives you red-tinged panoramas as you embark on a mountainside climb. The entire park is a rock climber’s paradise, with options for seasoned adventurers as well as beginners who want to try their hand at canyoneering in Zion’s unique landscape.
