Overview

Perched comfortably on the East Coast, New Jersey is a diverse state known for having one foot in big-city life and one foot in nature. In the northern part of the state, the New Jersey skyline sparkles alongside its New York counterpart. Liberty State Park is home to the Ellis Island Museum of Immigration, where millions of immigrants passed through when coming to America, set against the backdrop of the iconic Statue of Liberty. Despite being steps away from NYC, the neighbouring city of Newark is a cultural powerhouse in its own right, attracting a number of big-name performers and artists to its venues and theatres.

The New Jersey coast is marked by long beautiful stretches of sandy beaches that have attracted East Coasters for centuries. Quieter areas where you can immerse yourself in the calm waves can be found, but the bustling excitement comes to head in resort towns like Atlantic City and Ocean City. Both areas are famous for their sprawling boardwalks and luxurious casinos, where music, drinks, and dining never sleeps. The southern tip of Cape May delights visitors with its colourful Victorian-era buildings that have preserved the town’s history as a vacation hotspot.

Inland, get into nature and stretch towards the sky at High Point State Park, snaking through the forested Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Follow the Delaware River into Camden, where you’ll marvel at the Adventure Aquarium and Battleship New Jersey, a floating museum aboard one of the largest military ships ever built.
