Manitoba is Canada's fifth-most populous province and features a widely varied landscape, from arctic tundra and the Hudson Bay coastline in the north to boreal forest, huge freshwater lakes, and prairie grassland and farmland. The capital city is Winnipeg, which sits at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers, near the longitudinal centre of North America.
