Overview
Take a trip to Bungle Bungles on your Australia vacation.
The Bungle Bungle Ranges is an unusual and visually striking natural phenomenon to be experienced on an Australia vacation in the northeast of Western Australia. It has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site. The Bungle Bungles are extensively located in Purnululu National Park and are beehive-shaped sandstone domes made up of orange and grey stripes. They rise to a height of 580 metres/1880 feet above the ground and have existed for millions of years.
The best way to reach them on trips to Australia is from the town of Kununurra 250 kilometres/155 miles away either by road over rough terrain using a 4WD vehicle or by helicopter which gives a bird’s eye view of the Bungle Bungles including hidden pools, palm trees and deep chasms. Two of the most spectacular are the Cathedral Gorge and the Piccaninny Gorge both of which are breathtaking.
Although remote even by Australian standards, including one of our Bungle Bungle Ranges tours in your trips to Australia, will give you a greater appreciation for the ruggedness of this UNESCO world heritage site.
