History
With its first hotel built in 1907, Dalat soon became a tourist destination, filled with villas, boulevards, health spas, golf courses, parks, schools, and homes. Dominated by French colonial architecture, Dalat looks like a colourful cross between Vietnam and the French Alps.
Built in 1938, and earning recognition as a national historical monument in 2001, Dalat Railway Station features an Art Deco design and includes three pointed roofs, a characteristic of communal houses in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, as well as representing the three peaks of Dalat’s iconic mountain, Lang Biang.
