Angkor Wat
Angkor Wat stands as a remarkable Hindu-Buddhist temple complex in Cambodia, spanning an impressive 162.6 hectares. This extensive religious marvel comprises over a thousand structures, earning its place among the world's great cultural wonders. The city of Angkor once served as the majestic hub from which a dynasty of Khmer kings governed one of Southeast Asia's largest, most prosperous cities.
This area has over 72 temples, along with the remains of several hundred additional minor temple sites. Angkor Thom was the last enduring capital of the Khmer empire. Also, Ta Prohm, constructed in 1186 and once called Rajavihara, epitomizes the Khmer's architecture wonder and the jungle's might. Originally honouring Jayavarman VII's mother, it now stands as a fusion of ancient temples and wilderness. When visiting Angkor Wat, dress appropriately to maintain modesty and refrain from touching or vandalizing the monuments.
