Overview
Take a trip to Nyanga National Park on your Zimbabwe Vacation
One of Zimbabwe’s oldest national parks, Nyanga National Park is scenic and secluded spanning 47,000 hectares in the country’s Eastern Highlands on a Zimbabwe tour.
The area was originally designated as a national park in 1926 at the request of Cecil Rhodes and was once called Rhodes Inyanga National Park. For a time it served as Rhodes’ private estate where he spent the last few years of his life. The park nearly doubled in size during the 1990s with the purchase of most of the Inyanga Block and Kwaraguza farms.
Nyanga hosts many hiking trails that lead to most of the waterfalls as well as the accessible ruins. The main route up Mount Nyangani offers an excellent hike with stunning views of the park and even further into Mozambique. Nyanga National Park is a unique destination for true nature lovers with an appreciation for incredible scenery on travel to Zimbabwe.
