Essence of Brisbane, Sydney and the Great Barrier Reef

FIRST-CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: Combine three Aussie highlights on one convenient vacation. Start in sunny Brisbane, where you’ll explore the city and visit the nearby rainforest. Connect north to Cairns to cruise the Great Barrier Reef and explore the Daintree River. Finish your trip in Sydney to see the city’s iconic sights on a luxury luncheon cruise.
This 13-day Australian vacation takes you in and around Brisbane, the Great Barrier Reef, and Sydney to explore Aussie landmarks. It features first-class accommodations, international airfare, and a mix of shared and small group tours.
Your trip to Australia begins with a flight from North America. Arrive in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland and the fastest growing city in the country. Get to know the River City on a city tour that introduces you to its history and café club culture. Visit the Story Bridge, Treasury Casino, and then cruise the Brisbane River, the longest river in the region, while you sip Devonshire tea and learn about the city’s convict history. The next day, explore the surrounding Gold Coast, including O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, where you’ll go for a rainforest canopy walk, Mt. Tamborine, where you’ll enjoy some great views in a quaint mountain village, and O’Reilly’s National Park, where you can grab lunch amidst dense flora.
Continue your Australia vacation by connecting north to Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Cruise out onto the reef, the world’s largest living structure, for a full day in the Low Isles. You can relax on an island beach, get your exercise on a guided snorkelling tour to glimpse the vibrant colours beneath the waves, or ride in a glass bottom boat to enjoy a leisurely cruise with great views. Back on land, explore Cape Tribulation and the Daintree River system on a rainforest tour. You’ll cruise the Daintree River—keep your eyes peeled for estuarine crocodiles which lurk in the waters—hike along a rainforest boardwalk, go for a swim in Emmagen Creek alongside exotic fish and turtles, and cap off the day at Cape Tribulation Beach, where the rainforest meets the reef.
Fly south to Sydney to continue your trip to Australia in its largest city. A city tour will introduce you to world-famous landmarks and local favourites, including the historic Rocks district, trendy Oxford Street, the surf haven of Bondi Beach, and, of course, the architectural masterworks of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The next day, enjoy a new view of these Sydney icons on a luxury cruise like a local luncheon experience. Feast on a three-course meal with wines and beer as you admire these magnificent structures from the water. Cap off your time in Australia with a day in the nearby Blue Mountains, the magnificent mountain and forest system that’s only a 90-minute drive from Sydney. You’ll enjoy mountain lookouts, spot the famous Three Sisters, gaze upon Govetts Leap with its 180m drop waterfall, and see some Indigenous rock art sites before you return to Sydney. At the end of your Australian tour, you’ll connect to the airport for onward travels.

Brisbane at Leisure
At full day to explore Brisbane on your own.
The once sleepy town of Brisbane has emerged in recent decades as one of Australia's fastest-growing capital cities. With a year-round sub-tropical climate, it is also the gateway to Queensland’s Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, two Australian vacation spots with top-notch beaches and facilities.
The Brisbane River flows through the city's hilly topography, making a river cruise a great way to see the city. Top this off with riverside dining on Brisbane’s South Bank, then roam the trendy bars and cafes of West End, or for serious clubbing, cab it to Fortitude Valley. Culture lovers will want to dive into the city's riverside museum district next to South Bank, while shoppers should head to the city centre's Queen Street Mall.
A Brisbane highlight is the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the world’s first koala sanctuary where you can cuddle a koala (legal only in Queensland and South Australia), feed the kangaroos and meet adorably grouchy Tasmanian Devils. Another essential Brisbane view is Mount Coot-tha with its spectacular lookout and excellent botanical gardens. Not too far away is Moreton Bay Marine Park, a haven for wildlife, where you can see dolphins at play.
Brisbane to Port Douglas
Transfer to the Brisbane Airport in time for your flight to Cairns in Tropical North Queensland (flight not included in price).
On arival, you will be transfered to Port Douglas.
The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

The Blue Mountains National Park is one of seven national parks that make up the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. This wonderland of sandstone outcrops, deep ravines and hazy blue eucalypt forests boasts luxury retreats and stunning views. Today your guide will take you off the beaten track to visit remote lookout locations and discuss the history, flora and fauna of this magnificent region.

From Calmsley Hill we continue to ascend the Blue Mountains via the highway. We will visit one of a range of stunning outlooks of the Jamison Valley seeing beautiful vistas. Continuing on we arrive at Eaglehawk Lookout, a remote lookout points away from the crowds for views of the famous 3 Sisters. Whilst the Blue Mountains features so much more than this natural attraction you can't help but admire the unquestionable beauty of this amazing rock formation. The character of the Three Sisters changes throughout the day and throughout the seasons as the sunlight brings out the magnificent colors. Here your guide will discuss the legends behind this famous rock formation and time available for you to take some great photos.
We then make our way around the mountain towards the village of Blackheath and our lunch venue the Hydro Majestic. Here in this relaxed venue with stunning views. We enjoy a 2-course lunch with tea/coffee. All diets are catered for (excluding Kosher Meals). Beverages can be purchased at your own expense from the Bar.
The afternoon is spent visiting a selection of lookouts. Once you clap your eyes on the view from Govetts Leap you'll know why it's one of the most famous lookouts in Australia. The magnificent waterfall drops a whopping 180m to the base of the cliff. If you're not mesmerized by the dancing waves of water spray, you'll be transfixed by the sweeping views down the valley to the Grose Wilderness. We then stop briefly to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or orange juice at the delightful Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens our last stop, where we enjoy the sweeping views across to Sydney before travelling down the Bells Line of Road to arrive back at your hotel approximately 4:30 - 5:00 pm.
