Iceland Travel Deals Shine On Board the Ocean Diamond
Goway welcomes the 2015 Iceland travel season with early cruise deals.
As travellers prepare to flee the snow, Goway is looking ahead to summer with new Iceland cruise departures, including incentives for early bookers.
An Iceland tour is exciting at any time of year. Those in search of the Northern Lights will want to go during shoulder season, when day and night are at their most balanced. But those who prefer a more terrestrial brand of sightseeing will get the most out of Iceland’s summer. This may be the country’s peak travel period, but its long days ensure plenty of opportunity to see the country’s many outdoor highlights.
Passengers on board the Ocean Diamond will see the best of this rugged coastline on their 10-day Iceland cruise, including parts of the country rarely reached by summer tourists. This itinerary takes in many of Iceland’s most familiar attractions, including the Snaefellsjokull Glacier and the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, before turning to the sparsely populated north coast. Only here will Iceland visitors find sights like the Lake Myvatn region, said to be the meeting point between Heaven and Hell, or Dettisfoss, the waterfall featured in the Ridley Scott film Prometheus.
This cruise is also ideal for nature lovers, offering visits to the Eastfjords and Skjalfandi Bay, where whales, dolphins, seals and a wide variety of seabirds are common sightings. It’s also a good choice for cruise sceptics who’d rather spend more time on land. The regular itinerary includes numerous land excursions and small ‘zodiac’ vessel expeditions. However, the first ten passengers to book with Goway will also receive a bonus land tour of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, often described as Iceland in miniature.
Once infamously expensive, Iceland has in recent years become far more accessible to cost-wary visitors. Likewise, the Ocean Diamond offers cabins to suit any budget. Better yet, passengers who book with Goway by December 31 will enjoy 20% off the regular rate. At the top end, that’s up to US$4480 or $CA$4830 off the price of a luxurious Balcony Suite.
Eligible departures start on June 3, 2015, with the last cruise departing on July 28, 2015.
