Name Goway’s Kiwi and win a trip to New Zealand!

Goway Travel, a leading North American Travel Specialist, is proud to announce the sponsorship of a kiwi chick at Kiwi Encounter at Rainbow Springs in Rotorua, New Zealand.

To celebrate, Goway is inviting North American residents to submit a suggested name for the Kiwi! The successful submission will be awarded a trip for two to Rotorua, New Zealand, including round trip airfare from Los Angeles/San Francisco or Vancouver to Rotorua, 5 nights accommodation, and entry to Kiwi Encounter to view the kiwis.

The kiwi is simply unique and commands a position all of its own in the bird world. It exists nowhere but New Zealand and its evolution is due to New Zealand’s isolation. However, ‘eccentric’ national symbol is an endangered species and Kiwi Encounter is playing its part to bring our treasured icon back from the brink of extinction on the New Zealand mainland.

To enter, simply submit your name suggestion, together with contact details, at www.goway.com/namethekiwi by midnight September 30, 2008. Alternatively, submit your entry by mail to:
GOWAY Name the Kiwi Contest
3284 Yonge Street
Suite 500
Toronto ON M4N 3M7
.
Mailed entries must be postmarked before September 30, 2008. The winning name will be announced at Goway.com on October 15, 2008.

This kiwi will join Goway’s expanding family of sponsored animals; Matilda, Walter and Kiah (koalas), Zeke the Tasmanian Devil and Orville the Cheetah.

opal_2006.jpgGoway was presented with the “Best Wholesale Partner” prestigious award by Tourism Australia in Cairns, Australia in September 2006. The award for “Best Wholesale Partner” was voted for by thousands of North American Travel Agents, and was accepted by Scott Roseblade and Emma Cottis of Goway Travel. “Being recognized as travel agents’ favourite partner is a great honour for Goway,” commented Bruce Hodge, owner and President, “It is also a tribute to the team at Goway who are hard working and passionate about delivering amazing experiences.”

Self Drives Downunder Are Opportunities for Profit

According to tourism authorities from Australia and New Zealand, one of the largest visitor segments is the self drive market. But, according to Bruce Hodge, President of Goway Travel, most agents are missing out on this lucrative opportunity. “Regretfully”, he says “most agents just sell an airfare and the clients make their own self-drive arrangements”.

“There are several ways agents can tap this market” claims Hodge. “They can sell a car rental, a car and hotel pass combination, a motor home or a pre-arranged itinerary incorporating a car rental with pre-booked accommodations”.

Goway offers competitive car and motor home rentals in both Australia and New Zealand. As well, the Downunder specialist wholesaler offers over 30 different self drive itineraries which they pre-book accommodations in conjunction with their own Sydney office. If your clients still prefer to be more independent, Goway recommends agents use the itineraries as a great guide to what can be done. Whatever they book, Goway’s Sydney office is a 1-800 number away for any assistance if required.

The Pacific Coast Explorer, travelling between Sydney and Cairns for 16 days, is Goway’s most popular self drive itinerary. The price for Economy accommodation is $3,699 and $4,081 First Class. Price includes return airfare, pre-booked accommodations, transfers and other transport mentioned in the itinerary, a Hertz group C car with unlimited mileage and mandatory insurance plus Goway’s unique co-pilot kit which consists of maps, directions and discount offers.

For New Zealand, Goway offers 10 pre-planned itineraries. At this moment, their best selling self drive ideas for New Zealand are two special packages that include airfare from the West Coast, a motor home or car and hotel pass, plus the option to fly free to Australia.

LORD OF THE RINGS COUNTRY – NEW ZEALAND

If you have seen either of the “Lord of the Rings” movies you probably know that they were filmed in New Zealand. As a consequence, the destination has grown in popularity. With the country hosting the defense of the America’s Cup, the world’s premier yacht race, in February and the third Lord of the Rings movie to be released at the end of 2003, New Zealand is expected to remain popular for some time.

“Not only is New Zealand one of the world’s most beautiful countries” claims Bruce Hodge, President of downunder specialist Goway Travel, “it is very safe, very accessible and very affordable. Like other South Pacific countries, the friendly people also make it a very relaxed destination”.

To entice travellers to visit and tour New Zealand, Goway has just released a 68 page brochure “New Zealand the Perfect Destination”. Featuring more variety of ideas than any other single brochure, travellers can choose from escorted motorcoach tours, stay-put holidays, guided walks, bus/hotel passes, rail journeys, daily independent modules, self drive, chauffeur drive or motorhome packages. “Most travellers will be able to find an idea or a collection of ideas, to satisfy their interests”, continued Hodge.

The company has also created a “Middle Earth” self drive package, in conjunction with Air New Zealand, which visits many of the locations where the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy was filmed. “Regretfully,” stated Hodge, “many of the movie props have been dismantled.” “But,” he continued, “the lovely scenery cannot be removed”. The 16 day self drive package, inclusive of air from the west coast and a rental car plus accommodation and inter island ferry is priced from CAD $2,499 per person twin share.
