Goway’s Aussie Self-Drives Offer Improved Signage

Tourism NT Chief Executive, Maree Tetlow said “The driving force behind the development of the infrastructure was to guide visitors through one of Australia’s most iconic landscapes passing through the spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges, Hermannsburg and Kings Canyon.”

At Flynn’s Grave near the Desert Park in Alice Springs and at Yulara on the Lassiter Highway, two gateway signs have been erected. “Visitors going along the Red Centre Way routes will be able to feel more safe and confident with all the new signage that caters to travellers. Goway Improves Online Brochures

With the launch of Goway’s Downunder brochure, new features have been added to the online functionality of the eBrochures.

“Responding to demand from our agent partners, we have improved several of the features” commented Product and Marketing Manager, Emma Cottis. “With so many at-home Agents and a focus on reducing paper usage, agents can now opt to utilize some of the new tools. New features include:

  • A more modern look and feel
  • The option to view the brochure in “full screen” mode
  • The ability to download the brochure as a PDF to store a file copy electronically.
  • The function to share the brochure to a number of social media platforms, including twitter, Facebook, my space and more.
  • The brochure can be translated to any language and the translation pops up in a choice of all languages.

Goway’s commitment to providing time-efficient options that reduce the need for paper in today’s electronic environment follows a recent announcement that all most documentation (tickets, vouchers, itineraries, quotes and invoices, are now available in electronic format that are emailed directly to agent partners.

Goway and Tourism Queensland Host Special Australia Night

On the eve of Australia Day, Goway and Tourism Queensland hosted an evening with Ben Southall, winner of the “Best Job in the World”.

In January 2009, Tourism Queensland posted a position for “Island Caretaker”, dubbed the best job in the world. The six-month contract position carried a three figure salary and was based on Hamilton Island, one of the idyllic islands of the Great Barrier Reef. The successful applicant, Ben Southall, was charged with writing a weekly blog and enjoying a schedule of travel and events on the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef, reporting back to the world about the wonders Downunder.

Ben was chosen out of 34,000 applications worldwide for the illustrious position as Tourism Queensland’s Island Caretaker.

On Monday 25 January, at the Design Exchange in Toronto, Ben entertained local Travel Agents with stories of his exciting adventures and provided insightful information on the unique destinations and activities in Queensland.
