In an industry first, in January Tourism Queensland posted a position vacant for “Island Caretaker”. This six-month contract position carries a three figure salary and is based on one of the idyllic islands of the Great Barrier Reef. The successful applicant is charged with writing a weekly blog and enjoying a schedule of travel and events on the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef, reporting back to the world about the wonders Downunder.
