Goway Releases Beijing Olympic Packages

Goway Travel, a leading North American wholesaler, has recently released great value packages to Beijing for the Summer Olympics in 2008. Most of the official Olympic Hotels have already been booked by China residents even though the event is still a year away, according to the China Hospitality News.

Goway anticipated the demand by domestic China travellers and blocked rooms in Beijing in order to ensure accommodation is available for North Americans wishing to visit Beijing and take in the Olympics next August.

“We have been fortunate to be able to secure rooms in three categories of hotels in central Beijing”, commented Doug Vogl, Goway’s Asia Product and Marketing Manager. “As most people are aware hotels charge a premium for accommodation during the Olympics. However, we are able to offer a choice of moderate, first class and deluxe properties. Our first class hotel, the Jianqiau International, is an apartment hotel which is ideal for families.”

North Americans interested in attending the Olympics next year should book early for the sporting events as attendance is expected to be high. Also, for horse lovers, equestrian events will be held in Hong Kong.

Goway’s Beijing Olympics 2008 Packages offer moderate, first class or deluxe accommodation bundled in 8 Day programs. Starting from just $2278, the packages include 7 nights accommodation, daily breakfast, private transfers and sightseeing. Tickets are additional, but Goway can assist in acquiring tickets for events.

Japan: A Destination For All Seasons

Japan, with approximately 70% of its land covered by mountains, is home to thermal hot springs or “onsen”. Over 2,000 hot spring areas are found around the country, ranging from large resorts to quaint inns – ryokans and minshukus – isolated in the mountains. For this reason, Japan is a perfect year-round destination.

“Japan has always been perceived as a great destination in the spring and summer months. But the fall and winter months are equally conducive to touring the country”, says Doug Vogl, Goway’s Asia Product and Marketing Manager.

“Fall and winter is my favourite time to travel to Japan because there are fewer crowds. Our amazing Japan program line-up allows travel during these months to the same destinations one would enjoy in the spring or summer. The recent valuation of the Canadian dollar has made Japan a more popular destination for Canadian travellers as well.”

Goway’s Japan In Depth is an 8 Day tour combining the cities of Tokyo, Hakone, Takayama, Kanazawa and Kyoto for as low as $2600.

One of the most popular programs is Goway’s Classic Japan. This traditional 8-day itinerary combines Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto and Hiroshima for $2240. This also features the overnight in Hakone which allows the weary traveller an amazing hot springs experience.

For intrepid travellers, Goway offer a stay in a Traditional Japanese Inn (Ryokan). Starting at $682 this package includes a 2 night stay in a Ryokan.

Goway wins Ozzie Award!

At the recent Oztalk Event held in Palm Springs, California, Goway was honoured with an “Ozzie”; the award for “Best Wholesaler” which was voted on by attending Australian hoteliers, tour operators and state tourism organizations.

The award was presented to Goway at the gala dinner at the end of the weekend training event. Companies eligible for the award included all of the major wholesale companies (sending more than 1500 passengers annually to Australia) in the USA and Canada. “We are delighted by the recognition from our trade partners,” commented Emma Cottis, Product and Marketing Manager for Goway, “this is our first Ozzie award and is a result of the knowledge and expertise of our reservations team, and follows our win for ‘Best Wholesaler’ as voted by over 4,000 Aussie Specialists”.

Goway’s China Just Keeps Growing

Goway Travel, a leading North American wholesaler, has announced record sales for their programs to China in 2007, with forecasts of accelerated growth over the next 5 years. “Never before have we seen such significant growth in any Asian market”, says Doug Vogl, Goway’s Asia Product and Marketing Manager. “It’s incredible to see the increased demand for FIT, small escorted and large group tours. The exposure China is receiving from the upcoming Beijing Olympics has made it our top seller.”

The third-largest country in the world, China is bounded to the north by the deserts of Mongolia, to the west by the Tibetan plateau and the Himalayas, and to the east by the East and South China Seas. China isn’t just a country – it’s a different world. From shop-till-you-drop metropolises to the grasslands of Inner Mongolia; with deserts, sacred peaks, astounding caves and imperious ruins; it’s a land of cultural and geographical wonders. China Odyssey is our number one best-seller. It combines all major cities – Beijing, Xian, Guilin and Shanghai – as well as a Yangtze River cruise, with other unique components. We have doubled our departures for 2008 to be able to meet demand”, comments Vogl.

Goway’s 12 or 16-day China Odyssey is priced from $3729 and offers first class, centrally located properties. A unique feature of the tour is that the Tour Directors are national and guide the group through their entire China journey, rather than employing local guides in each location. On the Yangtze River, Goway includes the more popular downstream cruise itinerary and uses some of the best ships available in the region.

Goway’s range of products covers every style of travel, from independent to small group experiences and their unique range of “Holidays of a Lifetime“.
